Need higher pressure capacity for heavy-duty materials?
Explore our Hydraulic Bursting Strength Tester GT-C12A for pressure testing up to 10 MPa (ISO 13938-1).
Q1: What is the difference between pneumatic and hydraulic bursting strength testers?
A: Pneumatic bursting strength testers GT-C12B use compressed air under a rubber diaphragm, making them ideal for lower to medium pressure ranges (up to 1.5 MPa). They offer cleaner operation with zero risk of oil contamination, faster testing cycles, and lower maintenance compared to hydraulic testers, which are typically used for heavy-duty industrial metals or high-density board paper.
Q2: Which test areas are included with the GT-C12B?
A: The GT-C12B comes standard with test sets for 7.3 cm² (Φ30.5 mm) and 50 cm² (Φ79.8 mm). Optional test area adapters for 10 cm² and 100 cm² are available upon request to satisfy specific ISO and ASTM standard variations.
Q3: Can the GT-C12B transfer data to a PC for quality control reporting?
A: Yes. The GT-C12B includes a dedicated PC communication port, RS232/USB connection cables, and professional English analysis software for real-time curve display, data logging, statistical analysis, and customized report exports.
Q4: How does the GT-C12B ensure test accuracy and repeatability?
A: The machine combines an advanced AC servo drive system with a high-precision pressure sensor (resolution up to 0.002 MPa). The pneumatic auto-clamping ensures uniform clamping force on every sample to prevent edge slippage, while the contactless height sensor tracks burst distension up to 70 mm with an accuracy of ±1 mm.
Q5: What are the maintenance and operating air supply requirements for GT-C12B?
A: Unlike hydraulic testers, the GT-C12B requires no oil changes or fluid leak management. It operates on standard laboratory electrical power and a standard clean compressed air supply. Daily maintenance simply involves wiping the test clamping area and inspecting the rubber diaphragm for wear.
